Preparatory meeting of the trial on Amateur Football Federation vice-president Zakir Mammedov’s appeal against AFFA was held today in Khatai district court, Mammedov told APA-Sport.
Mammedov noted that AFFA was not represented in the meeting. The court scheduled the trial for July 26. Vice-president demands AFFA to abolish articles 7 (approval of legionnaire limit “5+2”), 9 (approval of nationalized footballers “5+2” in Azeri national team”), 10 (bid prize for legionnaire to make up AZN 20,000, for local player AZN 5,000) and 11 (bid prize for local trainer to make up AZN 10,000, and foreign trainer AZN 50,000) of the decision passed in 11th AFFA conference on April 26 this year. Mammedov stated that AFFA decision made last week will not change the demand.
“Reduction of prizes is not pf great significance. I demand elimination of discrimination among local and foreign citizens”, he said.
Mammedov said he had intention to sue former AFFA secretary general Fuad Esedov.
“Esedov told the press that he doesn’t know me. I wanted to sue him for harming my activity. I intended to get 5 kopecks as compensation and transfer it to AFFA budget. But I changed my mind for his age”, he said.
Esedov told APA-Sport last month when he worked as a secretary general that “Zakir Mammedov has no ties with AFFA. It is unclear why he sued AFFA”. /APA-Sport/
