AFFA agrees to cut bid prizes for footballers and coaches

Today AFFA held a meeting with the participation of Executive Committee members and club leaderships in headquarters, APA-Sport reports.
Youth and sports minister Azad Rehimov and AFFA president Ramiz Mirzeyev also attended the event. The main topic of discussions was the issue on bid prizes for footballers and coaches in 16th Azerbaijan championship. Club officials appealed to AFFA president to cut the prizes. The parties managed to reach agreement on the issue after a long debate. The bid prize for local footballer was reduced from AZN 4,000 to AZN 2,000 and for a foreign player from AZN 20,000 to AZN 8,000. It was decided that the club will not pay for a footballer it prepared as a player. The licensing issue was also discussed at the event. It was noted that not 3 but 4 age-group teams are necessary to operate in a club in 2007/08. The issues will be considered in AFFA extraordinary conference scheduled for July 20. /APA-Sport/
