Neftchi Veterans Football Club protests against AFFA Disciplinary Committee decision on Isgender Javadov
# 12 June 2007 15:56 (UTC +04:00)
AFFA Disciplinary Committee decision on veteran footballer Isgender Javadov causes discontent in Neftchi Veterans Football Club (VFC), Neftchi VFC president Ogtay Abdullayev told APA-Sport.
Abdullayev stated that vice-president Javadov didn’t insult anyone while analyzing team’s performance in Euro qualifying stage and AFFA activities.
“Javadov is one of three footballers awarded Order of “Shohret” (Glory) by President Ilham Aliyev. AFFA doesn’t act fair to him. He was deprived of power in AFFA Executive Comiitee a few months ago and now they ban him to work in AFFA member organizations. I see no offence in his critical ideas and statement that “Ramiz Mirzeyev and Shahin Diniyev should be swept off””, he said.
Abdullayev said they will hold a meeting on the issue tomorrow and appeal to the AFFA.
VFC president noted that they will appeal to other sport bodies if AFFA doesn’t react to the protest letter.
Alekber Mammedov, another veteran with Order of Glory, told APA-Sport that he has no information about the decision. Nevertheless, he stated that he is always ready to support Javadov.
Kazbek Tuayev, third veteran with the award, expressed his respect to Javadov. Nevertheless, he didn’t justify Javadov’s offensive statement.
“Javadov should know that AFFA Disciplinary Committee will punish him for such statements in media. Turkish trainer Naji Shensoy was also punished for the same statement”, he said.
Tuayev added that he will not take part in tomorrow’s meeting as he is not a member of Neftchi VFC. /APA-Sport/
