“I am not satisfied with AFFA decision to increase the prizes of membership dues for legionnaires. I can afford it. But AFFA should take other clubs into consideration. Such prize hike is a heavy blow for the clubs with less financial support”, stated Karvan director general Islam Aslanov, APA-Sport reports.
Aslanov said the decision had affected their team too.
“The main reason of Karvan’s failure in previous season was the legionnaire limit. Karvan was the first Azeri club which qualified a stage in UEFA Cup. We didn’t expect thanks but unexpected decision on legionnaire limit offended us”, he said.
Aslanov said Karvan has no financial problem now.
“We are supported by Azeri businesspeople from Russia, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Turkey. We also earn from ads. Some companies in Azerbaijan also contribute to us. Karvan president Javanshir Shireliyev and Management Board chairman Shahmar Veliyev are the creators of the club. The rumors that Karvan is financed by the same budget with Gilan and MKT-Araz are groundless”, he said.
Aslanov also refuted rumors about the poor relations with Veliyev.
“Shahmar Veliyev is my relative and there can by no problem between us. We are in good relationship”, he underscored. /APA-Sport/
