Former FIFA referee Imankhan Sultani has appealed to the AFFA of Neftchi vice-president Ramin Musayev, Sultani told APA-Sport.
The referee stated in his letter that Musayev acted unethically after national cup semi-final second leg between Neftchi and MKT-Araz.
“I noted in the letter that Musayev acted unethically and was rough against me after the match”, he said.
Sultani said such behaviour shows that Neftchi vice-president cannot face a defeat.
“He might have expressed his protest in civil norm but Musayev entered referees’ room and acted very roughly. I think, he cannot stand the defeat”, he said.
44-year-old referee refuted rumors that he assisted MKT-Araz in the match against Neftchi.
“The rumours that I help MKT-Araz to qualify for final round are groundless. Why to blame a referee if Neftchi footballer cannot score goal in 2-meter distance?”, he said.
AFFA Disciplinary Committee will consider the issue in next meeting. He is the highest fined club official in Azerbaijan. AFFA imposed AZM100mln fine (AZN20 000) on him in 2005. /APA-Sport/
