# 19 April 2007 14:41 (UTC +04:00)
UEFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed a penalty on Football Federation of Serbia for brawl in the match against Azerbaijan, AFFA told APA-Sport.
Serbian Federation is to pay 1500 Swiss franc fine for violation in the encounter in European futsal championship qualifying. A player was suspended from three international encounters. Such light punishment decision by the UEFA is connected with non-consideration of AFFA’s appeal. According to the rules, the appeal letter is to be submitted in 24 hours after the match. But AFFA sent the letter only 18 days later on, March 13 more precisely. UEFA Disciplinary Committee discussed negative events in Azerbaijan – Serbia encounter on March 22 but AFFA received the copy of decision recently. The decision only includes notes about referees and inspectors.
In European championship qualifying match in Netherlands, in last minutes while the score was 5-5, Serbian reserved player threw a shield to Azeri squad forward Vitali Borisov who was face-to-face with Serbian goalkeeper. Borisov lost balance and fell and couldn’t score the goal. Azeri squad failed to qualify for final round because of point loss in that encounter. /APA-Sport/
