AFFA extends contract with Berti Vogts for another two years

The meeting was held with the participation of eight members of the committee. AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev chaired the meeting. Elshad Nasirov, Elmar Gasimov, Isgandar Javadov, Alakbar Mammadov, Kazbek Tuayev, Mirkamil Rahimov and Jahangir Hajiyev attended the meeting. First vice-president of AFFA Rauf Aliyev, official of the association Mahir Mammadov and President of â€œBakuâ€ Hafiz Mammadov did not attend the meeting.

The first issue on the agenda was the issue of national team coach. Following the discussions, the term of the contract with German coach Berti Vogts was extended by 2014.

The second issue was the official appeal of the â€œInterâ€ professional sport club concerning the purchase of Shafa stadium. Positive reply was given to the appeal and AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov was commissioned to prepare the necessary documents.

Veteran football players Vagif Ibrahimov, Adalat Jafarov, Boyukaga Agayev, Aziz Aliyev, Agasalim MIrjavadov and Rustam Rahimov were included into the list of veterans receiving pension from AFFA.

Elkhan Mammadov gave detailed information to the Executive Committee about the measures taken for the development of childrenâ€™s football within the framework of the contract signed between AFFA and Coca-Cola. The members of the committee appreciated the work done in this sphere.

65-year-old Vogts has been coaching the national team since April, 2008.
