Azerbaijani national team rise three places in FIFA ranking

Baku â€“ APA-Sport. FIFA announced new ratings after the World Cup 2010. The national team of Azerbaijan prospered rising three places to 106th place in the FIFA ranking, APA-Sport reports.

The team has 266 points and is 55th in UEFA rating list. The national team coached by Berti Fogts was in Austria for training and held series friendly matches with Moldova (1:1), Honduras (0:0) and Macedonia (1:3).

One of the Euro-2012 group rivals of the Azerbaijani team â€“ Germany also rose two places from 6th to 4th with 1466 points. Belgium gained 589 points and rose from 59th to 48th, Austria (536 points) from 68th to 60th, Kazakhstan (189 points) from 129th to 126th. The Azerbaijani players will meet with Kuwait, which also prospered with 365 points from 97th to 85th place, in a friendly match in Baku on August 11.

The World Cup 2010 winner â€“ Spanish team is leading the rating list with 1883 points, the Netherlands â€“is the second with 1659 points and long-term leader of the FIFA ratings â€“ Brazil is third with 1536 points.
