Baku-APA. Galatasaray have signed striker Jo on a six-month loan deal from Manchester City, according to their official club website, APA reports.
The forward had been on loan at Everton, but Toffees boss David Moyes was believed to be unhappy with the player’s form and discipline after an unauthorised trip to Rio de Janeiro.
As a result, his season-long loan deal at Goodison Park was cancelled and Jo was sent back to City.
Galatasaray’s interest emerged in the last few days and it would now seem that they have finally got their man.
A statement on Galatasaray’s official website read: "Our club have agreed to sign Brazilian Joao Alves de Assis Silva on loan until the end of the season from English Premier League team Manchester City.
"Joao Alves de Assis Silva is welcome and we wish him success in the yellow and red jersey."
Jo signed for City from Russian outfit CSKA Moscow for a fee believed to be in the region of £19 million in 2008 but never settled in at Eastlands.
He impressed during a loan spell at Goodison Park last season but has failed to match that form this time around with the Merseyside club.
He will be reunited at Galatasaray with former Everton team-mate Lucas Neill who also recently joined the Turkish club.
