World soccer legend Bobby Robson dies

Baku –APA. Former player and manager of the England national football team Bobby Robson has died at age of 76 after a long fight with cancer, APA reports quoting the world news agencies.
Robson was a player of the Fulham and West Bromwich in 1950-1960s. He started his career of manager with Fulham in 1968. He was a manager of Ipswich Town in 1969-1982and won the English and UEFA cups with the team. Robson took up the England national team manager’s post in 1982 after the world championship and led the team to the quarterfinals of World Cup 1986. He worked with PSV Eindhoven, Sporting, Porto, Barcelona and Newcastle and won the Dutch, Portugal championship and Portugal and Spanish cups. In 1997, Barcelona coached by Robson won the European championship cup. His last job was an adviser to the Ireland’s team.
