The exchange rate of the Azerbaijani manat will remain stable until 2029, says the forecast of the Economist Intelligence Unit, a research and analysis unit of The Economist Group, APA-Economist reports.
The publication notes that the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) operates a fixed-exchange-rate regime, with the manat pegged to the US dollar. The outlook for the manat is stable, supported by a large current-account surplus. EIU expects the CBA's main policy priority in 2024‑28 to be maintaining the peg, which should be viable, given ample foreign-exchange reserves.
