Azerbaijan's Finance Minister Samir Sharifov clarified the increase of the transfer from the State Oil Fund to the state budget next year, APA reports.
During the discussion of the draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025" at the meeting of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Parliament, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said that the increase is related to the serious arming of Armenia: "Armenia is seriously arming itself. In response to this, according to the order of Mr. President, there was a need to increase the national security expenses, therefore, to increase the transfer from the Oil Fund. You know that we were not in favor of increasing the transfer from the Oil Fund compared to the current year."
It should be noted that in 2025, the transfer from SOFAZ to the state budget is predicted to be 14 billion 481 million manats. This is 1 billion 700 million manats or 13.3 percent more than the forecast indicator of 2024, and 2 billion 743.4 million manats or 23.4 percent more than the performance indicators of 2023.
