Individual entrepreneurs and legal entities engaged in electricity production projects, that are not below the amount determined by the relevant executive authority or the body (institution) designated by it, are exempt from customs duties on the importation of equipment, technological devices, and installations based on the certificate issued by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority. This exemption applies for the term specified in the electricity purchase agreement concluded in accordance with the "Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Electricity Production," but not for more than 30 years (including the construction period), this was reflected in the proposed amendment to the "Customs Tariff Law," APA reports.
If passed, the law will enter into force on January 1, 2025.
