Azerbaijan writes off bank loans of the AZAL plane crash victims

On the recommendation of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA) and the Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association (AMFA), the credit obligations of the crew and passengers who tragically lost their lives in the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane on the Baku-Grozny route, which occurred near the city of Aktau on December 25, 2024, have been fully written off by the relevant organizations at their own expense, including obligations to banks and non-bank credit institutions, ABA told APA.

"On behalf of the banks and non-bank credit institutions operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan, which have always stood by our people and the country's leadership in all trials, ABA and AMFA express their deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the statement said.
