Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) said their units struck 13 energy infrastructure facilities across Russian-occupied territories over the past 48 hours as part of an ongoing campaign targeting electricity and gas distribution networks supporting Russian-controlled areas, UNITED 24 Media reports.
According to statements published by SBS Commander Maj. Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”) on August 5, the latest attacks targeted electrical substations and a gas distribution station in occupied parts of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions, as well as temporarily occupied Crimea.
The reported targets included high-voltage substations ranging from 750 kV to 110 kV, including the 750 kV Pivdennodonbaska substation near Kremenivka in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region and the 330 kV Myrna substation near temporarily occupied Mariupol.
Additional strikes hit substations in occupied Melitopol, Berdiansk, Prymorskyi Posad, Yakymivka, Zuhres, Topolyne, Tymofiivka, Kadiivka, and multiple facilities serving occupied Mariupol. Ukrainian forces also reported striking the Natashyne gas distribution station in temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to Brovdi, the operation involved several SBS formations, including the 1st Separate SBS Center, the 414th Separate Brigade “Birds of Madyar,” the 427th Separate Brigade “Rarog,” the 412th Separate Brigade “Nemesis,” and the 20th Separate Brigade “K-2.”
The commander also said Ukrainian drone units have struck 201 energy infrastructure nodes across occupied territories since July 1, when the campaign began. Ukrainian officials refer to the operation as “Crimean Switch Off.”
The announcement follows another series of Ukrainian long-range strikes reported by Ukraine’s General Staff on August 5, which targeted Russian military infrastructure, including drone command facilities, logistics crossings, and supply depots in occupied territories and inside Russia. Separately, Ukrainian drones struck a Wildberries logistics hub in Russia’s Tula region overnight.
