Turkish intelligence chief, Syrian FM discuss regional security and counterterrorism

Head of Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, met with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani in Ankara, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.

The meeting discussed Türkiye-Syria relations, regional stability, Syria-Lebanon relations, counterterrorism, and the process of integrating the SDF.

The sides emphasized the importance of continuing the fight against the ISIS terrorist organization in Syria. They also assessed the political and economic impact of the U.S./Israel-Iran war on the region, as well as the current status of sanctions imposed on Syria.
