"No stability is possible in any territory under the control of an occupying power," Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said while commenting on the events in Georgia's occupied Abkhazia region, APA's correspondent in Tbilisi reports.

"This is the result of the presence of an occupying power there. In any area where there is no institution and an occupying power exists, stability is impossible. Therefore, we say that a unified Georgia is in line with our common interests and the interests of our Abkhaz compatriots. Whether in Georgia or elsewhere, any such gray zones created by the occupation regime are always a source of instability, as these are areas where institutions do not operate," Papuashvili said.

Note that today, the Abkhaz "opposition" held a protest demanding the resignation of the "president" of the so-called entity. According to local media, the tension was caused by a decision allowing Russian citizens to purchase real estate in Abkhazia.
