A total of 193 Azerbaijani citizens are being held in prisons in Georgia, stated in the Georgian National Statistics Office's report for June, APA's local bureau reports.
According to the report, 61 of them are defendants, including 56 men and five women, while 132 are convicted prisoners, including 114 men and 18 women.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens under probation supervision in Georgia stands at 79, comprising 70 men and nine women.
The total number of foreign nationals serving prison sentences in Georgia is 1,830. Turkish citizens account for the largest group with 504 inmates, followed by Russian citizens with 216 and Ukrainian citizens with 210.
A total of 725 citizens from 47 countries are currently under probation supervision in the neighboring country.
