The Georgian Parliament does not need the legitimacy of the opposition; its legitimacy comes from the Georgian people," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in a statement to journalists in Baku, APA reports.

The Prime Minister noted that the opposition’s refusal to accept the mandates given by a segment of society would be an insult to their supporters.

"The parliament needs legitimacy from the Georgian people, not from the opposition, I can tell you this very clearly. The Georgian people granted legitimacy to the Georgian parliament and its majority," he said.

Note that the Georgian opposition has refused to recognize the results of the October 26 elections and the legitimacy of the Georgian parliament.
