According to Paris’ fire department, an explosion took place at around 5:30 a.m. in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis), on Friday, APA reports citing Express.
Firefighters are asking residents to "avoid the area" and "not unnecessarily clutter the emergency lines".
Nearly 150 firefighters have been mobilised on the spot, with specialised teams of Search Rescue in Urban Environments (RSMU) to find possible additional victims.
On Twitter, firefighters Pompiers Paris said: “Explosion in Aubervilliers (93) rue André Karman.
“Avoid the area and do not clutter emergency lines unnecessarily. Residents, be careful.”
The origin of the explosion is currently unknown, and the teams are currently trying to find other potential victims.
