Swedish State Defense Research Agency: â€œRussian newspapers spread wrong information quoting usâ€

Stockholm. Zaur Hasanov -APA. State Defense Research Agency of Sweden denied information spread recently by the Russian mass media quoting it. The agency sources told APA that Russian newspapers and other press organizations misinterpreted information of the Swedish State Defense Research Agency.
Recently Russian newspapers said on behalf of the Swedish Agency that Israeli general Gal Khirs provided Georgia with the plan of attack to the South Ossetia.
â€œAlthough there was no name of any Israeli general in the agencyâ€™s report. We also deny the Russian newspapersâ€™ report that nearly 1000 Israeli soldiers were involved in the Georgian-Russian war. There is quite a different idea in the report, such as a large number of foreign military and civil advisers, including Israeli military experts were actively involved in the activity in Georgia. Israeli advisers representing the private companies of the country instructed Georgian army, security and intelligence bodies. We have no specified number of Israeli experts, but we know that several hundreds may be one thousand instructors visited Georgia. May be some of these instructors took part in shootings, but involving of Israeli instructors couldnâ€™t effect on the military operationsâ€.
The agency sources also denied information of Russian newspapers about using the Georgian military bases for the possible Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities in future. The agency said there was no such information in the report. â€œRussian newspapers â€œquotingâ€ the agency reported that Israel was buying 20 per cent of Azerbaijani oil. The oil is transported to Turkish port of Adana via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline and Israel is interested in the exploitation of this pipeline. But there were no concrete figures and reports on the Israelâ€™s energy links in the reportâ€.
