Arrests continue in Armenia, APA reports.
Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the Ayakve initiative, was detained this morning.
The Armenian Investigative Committee stated that Chalabyan was detained within the framework of a criminal case being investigated by the Committee.
No further details regarding his detention were provided, and it was noted that an official statement would be issued later.
Recall that the Ayakve initiative joined the "Strong Armenia" bloc led by Samvel Karapetyan in late April.
The parties undertook a commitment to unite their efforts to change the current government through elections and form a new government.
Parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on June 7, 2026.
The "Civil Contract" party led by current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan won the elections.
A considerable number of individuals from the opposition camp have been detained both before and after the elections.
