Türkiye welcomes the positive phase in the US-Iran talks, said Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) Numan Kurtulmuş at the opening of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States in Baku, APA reports.
“We hope that the reached agreement will be adhered to until the end, that the negotiations will continue in a positive direction, and that, ultimately, this war launched against Iran by the United States and Israel will be stopped, ensuring a complete environment of peace,” the Speaker of the Turkish parliament said.
He stressed that halting Israeli military operations in Lebanon, which is considered one of the important components of the negotiations between the United States and Iran, is also of vital importance: “Lebanon belongs to the Lebanese. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians. Israel has never had any right over these countries and never will.”
Numan Kurtulmuş also said that Türkiye supports the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and hopes that the process will result in lasting peace.
