“There is a need for reforms on international platforms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation," Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) Numan Kurtulmuş told journalists, APA reports.
The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament said that a new reform process is needed from institutional, political, and ideological perspectives:
“In other words, reforms are needed both in state institutions and on international platforms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, along with increasing institutional capacities and strengthening participation, democracy, and, in Islamic terms, consultation (shura) in Islamic countries. New opportunities are emerging before us. By uniting the potential of Islamic countries and transforming our capabilities into common strategies and joint projects, the Islamic world can become one of the rising stars of the world in the coming period.
We, too – countries such as Azerbaijan and Türkiye, located at the very center of the Islamic world – should benefit from this. Making use of these opportunities serves the interests of all our countries individually.”
