Azerbaijan has become an important transport and logistics hub in the Eurasian region, said Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dmitry Pinevich at the international roundtable titled “Azerbaijan as a Logistics Hub of Eurasia: Aligning the Interests of the EAEU and the South Caucasus” held in Baku, APA reports.
He noted that the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor opens broad prospects for regional cooperation: “For Belarus, cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in the field of transport and logistics, is of great importance. The North-South Transport Corridor, as well as the Belarus–Azerbaijan–Iran route, is a promising platform for cooperation.”
The ambassador said that the development of railway infrastructure and joint manufacturing projects could create new opportunities for the parties: “The joint production of railcars and other railway equipment, as well as the development of transport infrastructure, are among the important directions of future cooperation.”
According to the diplomat, the Belarus–Azerbaijan–Iran route, as well as transport links connecting Russia, Türkiye and other countries, could become significant economic projects in the future.
The ambassador particularly emphasized the importance of developing railway infrastructure, increasing cargo transportation, and implementing joint manufacturing projects.
Pinevich added that strengthening transport and communication links contributes to deeper economic integration across the Eurasian region.
