Global stock markets close mostly lower

The latest trading session in global stock markets was marked mainly by negative dynamics, APA-Economics reports.

In the United States, the Dow Jones index fell by 45.87 points, or 0.09%, to 51,666.84 points. The S&P 500 index declined by 1.44% to 7,365.46 points, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped by 2.21% to 25,587.04 points. The NYSE Composite index fell by 0.56%, and Canada's S&P/TSX Composite index decreased by 0.21%.

Negative dynamics also prevailed across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Euro Stoxx 50 index fell by 1.28%, the United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index by 0.09%, Germany's DAX index by 0.98%, France's CAC 40 index by 0.71%, and Spain's IBEX 35 index by 0.34%.

A mixed picture was observed in the Asia-Pacific region. Japan's Nikkei 225 index declined by 0.65%, the TOPIX index by 0.60%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index by 0.11%. Meanwhile, China's CSI 300 index and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index each rose by 0.24%. The MSCI AC Asia Pacific index, however, fell by 3.62%.
