In January–July of this year, 35.1 billion manats worth of goods were sold to consumers through the retail trade network, including 19.3 billion manats worth of food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and 15.8 billion manats worth of non-food products, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, retail trade turnover increased by 3.8% in real terms, including a 1.4% increase in food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and a 6.7% increase in non-food products.
In 7 months, 50.5% of the funds spent by buyers on goods in the retail trade network were allocated to food products, 4.4% to beverages and tobacco products, 12.7% to textile products, clothing and footwear, 6.0% to automobile gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.7% to electrical goods and furniture, 2.5% to pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, 1.2% to computers, telecommunication equipment and printed products, and 18.0% to other non-food products.
During the reporting period, the value of goods sold by economic entities operating in the non-state sector increased by 3.8% in real terms compared to the same period of the previous year, accounting for 99.8% of the total retail trade turnover.
Compared to January–July 2024, retail trade turnover in January–July 2025 increased by 7.9% in real terms for enterprises, by 1.0% for individual entrepreneurs, and by 4.3% in markets and fairs.
During the reporting period, on average, one person in the retail trade network purchased goods worth 489.6 manats per month, including 268.7 manats worth of food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and 220.9 manats worth of non-food products.
