Last month, trade transactions worth USD 556 million 453 thousand took place between Azerbaijan and the Commonwealth of Independent States CIS countries, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.
According to the information, this is 32% more compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, trade transactions with the CIS countries accounted for 33.57% of the country's total trade turnover.
During this period, the value of Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries was as follows: with Russia, USD 411 million 812 thousand (55.5% more compared to last year), with Ukraine, USD 44 million 448 thousand (11.7% less), with Belarus, USD 33 million 189 thousand (4.3% less), with Turkmenistan, USD 26 million 352 thousand (22% less), with Kazakhstan, USD 24 million 691 thousand (41.6% more), with Uzbekistan, USD 14 million 578 thousand (13.2% more), with Kyrgyzstan, USD 822 thousand (88.5% less), with Moldova, USD 418 thousand (20.7% less), and with Tajikistan, USD 136 thousand (52.8% more).
During the month, Azerbaijan's exports to the CIS countries increased by 19.5%, amounting to USD 120 million 234 thousand.
During this period, Azerbaijan exported products worth USD 81 million 145 thousand to Russia (7.3% more compared to last year), USD 22 million 762 thousand US dollars to Ukraine (9.4 times more), USD 4 million 723 thousand to Belarus (31.1% less), USD 3 million 4 thousand to Turkmenistan (25.1% less), USD 5 million 693 thousand to Kazakhstan (68.4% more), USD 2 million 612 thousand to Uzbekistan (31.5% more), USD 91 thousand to Kyrgyzstan (98.5% less), USD 107 thousand to Moldova (36.7% less), and USD 93 thousand to Tajikistan (no export in January of the previous year).
In Azerbaijan's total exports, CIS countries accounted for 3.95% share, including Russia with 2.67%, Ukraine with 0.75%, Turkmenistan with 0.10%, Belarus with 0.15%, Kazakhstan with 0.19%, Uzbekistan with 0.09%, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Tajikistan each holding a small share.
In January, the value of Azerbaijan's imports from CIS countries increased by 35.9%, reaching USD 436 million 219 thousand.
During this period, Azerbaijan imported products worth USD 330 million 667 thousand from Russia (74.8% more), USD 21 million 686 thousand from Ukraine (54.8% less), USD 28 million 466 thousand from Belarus (2.3% more), USD 23 million 348 thousand from Turkmenistan (21.5% less), USD 18 million 998 thousand from Kazakhstan (35.1% more), USD 11 million 966 thousand from Uzbekistan (9.8% more), USD 731 thousand US dollars from Kyrgyzstan (20.5% less), USD 311 thousand from Moldova (13.1% less), and USD 43 thousand from Tajikistan (51.7% less).
In Azerbaijan's total imports, CIS countries accounted for 21.25%, including Russia with 16.11%, Ukraine with 1.06%, Turkmenistan with 1.14%, Belarus with 1.39%, Kazakhstan with 0.93%, Uzbekistan with 0.58%, Kyrgyzstan with 0.04%, Moldova with 0.02%, and Tajikistan holding a small share.
