Last year, 36,306.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 6.3% less than the previous year, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
74.9% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 27,179.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through this pipeline during the reporting period, which is 7.8% less than the previous year.
Of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline during the reporting period, 84.8% or 23,056.9 thousand tons was oil produced in Azerbaijan (a 4.6% decrease), and 15.2% or 4,122.3 thousand tons (a 22.2% decrease) was oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
