"Georgia is a very important player in the region. Taking into account geographical and political realities, it is impossible not to emphasize Georgia's significant role in the context of the 'Trump Route' project as well," said Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili on Imedi TV's "Imedi Live" program, APA's local bureau reports.
The minister noted that Georgia plays a decisive role in terms of connectivity in the region.
"Regardless of how the routes develop in the future and which countries they pass through, this is of great importance for Georgia and is beneficial in terms of regional cooperation," the foreign minister said.
Maka Botchorishvili noted that Georgia has a strategic position, emphasizing that access to international markets through the Black Sea plays an important role in this regard.
"Georgia's access to the sea is important not only for the South Caucasus but also for Central Asian countries, and this further strengthens the country's role in the development of regional transport and communication routes," the minister added.
