"Today, we are collecting human remains piece by piece from the foothills of steep mountains," Akif Guliyev, Head of the Forensic Archaeology Department at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), said during a panel discussion at the 4th International Conference held as part of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons, APA reports.
He said that natural phenomena and wild animals cause these remains to be displaced.
"We returned from Karabakh three days ago. We discovered human remains belonging to another 16 people," he said.
