Azerbaijan's joining the Consultative Meeting format of the Heads of State of Central Asia is an extremely important achievement for us, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said during his speech at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, held in the city of Turkmenbashi, APA's correspondent dispatched to Turkmenistan reports.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that the situation in the world and the region is changing rapidly, with new geopolitical and economic realities emerging. According to him, these processes require special attention from the heads of state and further strengthening of mutual cooperation.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that there are broad opportunities to expand economic and trade cooperation between the countries, as well as to effectively utilize the existing potential in humanitarian, scientific and educational fields.
"I am confident that today we can set truly large-scale strategic goals for ourselves. The dynamic development of our countries' economies, their diversification, and the improvement of their quality and technological levels allow us to significantly expand our business ties based on mutual interests and beneficial terms," the President of Turkmenistan said.
He noted that the role of Central Asia and Azerbaijan as important logistics and energy hubs in regional and global processes is steadily increasing.
"This opens up favorable prospects for developing cooperation with our partners in Asia and Europe," the head of state emphasized.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also highlighted that strengthening ties between the countries based on spiritual, cultural and shared values is among the priority areas.
The President of Turkmenistan stated that the issues to be discussed and the proposals to be put forward within the framework of the Consultative Meeting should serve the sustainable development and well-being of the participating states and their peoples.
