The level of filling of underground gas storage facilities in the European Union countries has dropped to 50%, APA-Economics reports, citing the European Association of Gas Infrastructure Operators (Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE).

According to the information, the level of filling of underground gas storage facilities in the EU countries is approximately 50.36% (in the corresponding period of last year it was 61.7% - ed.), which is 14.84 percentage points less than the average indicator of the last five years.

It was reported that currently, the total volume of gas in the storage facilities of the EU countries is 55.7 billion cubic meters.

Note that in general, during the heating season, since October 13 last year, European countries have extracted approximately 40.5 billion cubic meters of gas from the storage facilities.

The transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
