Azerbaijan’s investments in renewable energy are the right strategy, said Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, during his speech at the 2nd Azerbaijan–Türkiye Investment Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He said that against the backdrop of changes in global energy policy, Azerbaijan has chosen the right position with its strategic approach focused on renewable energy.
According to him, Azerbaijan’s serious investments in renewable energy, along with prioritizing the development of non-oil sectors, constitute the right strategy in terms of economic diversification. The Vice President noted that an economy not based on a single product is essential for sustainable development.
C. Yılmaz emphasized that Türkiye is ready for comprehensive cooperation with brotherly Azerbaijan in renewable energy investments and the transformation processes being carried out in this field. According to him, the successful continuation of this strategic transformation is also of significant importance for regional energy security.
The Vice President also touched upon the implementation status of the action plan signed at the 12th session of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission, noting that a large part of the measures under the plan have already been carried out and that in the new period, the aim is to further increase the level of implementation.
C. Yılmaz expressed hope that the forum would contribute to strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and increasing stability and prosperity in the region, emphasizing that the event would create a basis for new partnerships and joint projects.
