Turkish Minister: We must ensure that the Caspian Sea unites the Turkic world, not divides it

Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, has put forward the “Caspian” proposal to the Turkic world, APA reports.

Touching on the importance of the “Green Energy Corridor” project, which envisions the transfer of electricity generated from renewable energy sources to be produced in Central Asia to the western part of the Caspian, Bayraktar stated that the Caspian Sea will play an important role in delivering energy to Europe via Türkiye:

“We are working on this issue together with Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Bulgaria. In addition, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan have also signed the relevant agreement among themselves. With the participation of Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan, this cooperation will become even more logical and strong. Through this project, we will realize the region’s potential and deliver the produced electricity first to the Turkish market and then to Europe. We must ensure that the Caspian does not separate the Turkic World, but unites it,” the minister said.
