The volume of cargo transported by sea in Azerbaijan in January-November 2025 amounted to 8,334.4 thousand tons, an increase of 5.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, 46.8% of the cargo transported in the reporting period was oil cargo.
"The number of passengers transported by this type of transport during the period decreased by 9.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2024 and amounted to 23.6 thousand people," the information states.
It is reported that 11,940.3 thousand tons of loading and unloading operations were carried out by seaports, and 9,480.8 thousand tons or 79.4% of the cargo were transit cargo. As of December 1, 2025, the volume of cargo remaining in the ports was 431.3 thousand tons.
