The 5th meeting of the Energy Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Istanbul, APA reports
Speaking at the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov emphasized the important role of energy cooperation in the process of the organization becoming a geopolitical center in the world.
The minister touched on the significance of the Zangezur corridor, noting that important steps are being taken toward its opening. He stated that the corridor will further deepen unity among Turkic states:
“The creation of these corridors and their future interconnection will both develop regional energy trade and accelerate global renewable energy flows. These projects will further strengthen our countries’ strategic position in Europe’s energy supply and form a new geoeconomic architecture of energy cooperation in the Eurasian space,” the minister said.
Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, recalling that the COP31 UN Climate Change Conference will be held in Antalya in November 2026, congratulated Azerbaijan for hosting the 29th conference and invited all participants to Antalya.
