Baku International Sea Port handles 7.547 million tons of cargo in 11 months

In 11 months of this year, Baku International Sea Port handled 7 million 547 thousand tons of cargo, APA-Economics reports.

This was reported during a media tour organized to the port area.

It was noted that while 3.787 million tons of cargo were handled through the Port of Baku in 2018, when the modern port complex in the Alat settlement was commissioned, this figure increased to 7.547 million tons over the first 11 months of the current year.

"These high results once again prove that Baku Port is one of the most reliable logistics hubs in the region and show that Azerbaijan's logistics system has entered a new stage of development. The increase in the port's cargo throughput further strengthens Azerbaijan's position as a strategic logistics route between the East and the West," it was noted during the media tour.

It was emphasised that the implementation of green and digital logistics solutions at the Port of Baku and the deepening of integration along the Middle Corridor promise larger cargo volumes, broader trade relations, and greater added value to the country's economy.
