Chairman of the Board of Directors of “AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC), Zakir Ibrahimov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to Azerbaijan, Ms. Marianxeles Bellushi, “AzerGold” told APA-Economics.
During the meeting Z. Ibrahimov provided information on the achievements of “AzerGold” CJSC in its fields of activity, the Company’s strategic plans and the work done in the mining sector.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors noted that the dependence on the state budget for the implementation of gold mining projects entrusted to the management of the Joint Stock Company has been completely eliminated.
According to him, preparatory work for the exploitation of new non-ferrous and ferrous metal deposits is successfully continuing.
Due to its export profitability, “AzerGold” CJSC is making a significant contribution to the diversification of the country’s economic activity by further strengthening its position in the non-oil and gas sector.
Z. Ibrahimov also emphasized that the achieved successes are the result of targeted economic reforms implemented in the country, a favorable investment climate and the state's continuous support for the mining industry. The opportunities created by the state for improving the business environment, stimulating export-oriented sectors and developing local production have a positive impact on the further expansion of the activities of "AzerGold".
The Chairman said that the prospects for cooperation with a number of countries rich in mineral resources, especially Argentina, which has a high economic potential in Latin America, are in the sphere of interest of the Company. Analyses conducted in this direction and possible partnership models may create conditions for the implementation of new projects in the future.
Noting that Argentina has extensive ore reserves such as silver, copper and lithium, Marianxeles Bellushi expressed their interest in cooperation with "AzerGold" CJSC in the field of studying and managing existing deposits in the country.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of organizing joint activities in the mining sector as a new direction of cooperation between the two countries, noting that the partnership with “AzerGold” CJSC, which has extensive experience in both geological exploration and mining exploitation, will create mutual benefits for both parties.
In the end, the parties exchanged views on the exchange of experience and prospects for cooperation in various areas of the mining sector. It was noted that the meeting was very useful in terms of assessing the possibilities of future cooperation between the two countries.
