"It is planned to start the construction of 2 solar power plants (SPP) with a total capacity of 760 MW in Azerbaijan by the end of this year," Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov stated on X, APA-Economics reports.
The Minister noted that the construction of a wind power plant (WPP) with a capacity of 240 MW is planned to start next year.
"The MoU on investment cooperation in electricity transmission, the Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation on Green Energy and the Roadmap for the construction of 1 GW solar and wind projects signed with the UAE further will manifest our solidarity for the sake of a Green World, further strengthening our green energy partnership. We plan to start the construction of 2 SPPs with a total capacity of 760 MW by the end of this year, and 1 WPP with a capacity of 240 MW next year," the Minister noted.
