Iran takes interest in the joint use of underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Iran is negotiating with Azerbaijan on the joint use of underground gas storage facilities and the purchase of natural gas, said Alikhan Melikov, President of AzeriGaz.
He said that in an Iranian delegation will soon travel to Azerbaijan for negotiations.
“At present our delegation is holding negotiations in Iran on the technical issues of transporting gas to Nakhchivan,” he added.
Melikov also said record high 1.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been injected to underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan this year.
He said that an underground gasholder with the capacity of 350 million cubic meters will be built in Nakhchivan.
According to him, gas bill collection rate reached 65-66% this year.
