"The TRIPP route should ensure Azerbaijan's unimpeded access to Nakhchivan, strengthen regional integration and East-West connectivity, and create mutual economic benefits and prosperity for Azerbaijan and the region," U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon said in a video address posted on the social media accounts of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
"The TRIPP project has made tremendous progress over the past year, and this process will only accelerate in the year ahead," the U.S. diplomat said.
Carlon also spoke about the U.S.-Azerbaijan strategic partnership. She recalled that on August 8, 2025, President Donald Trump and President Ilham Aliyev signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at elevating U.S.-Azerbaijan relations to a new level.
According to her, this process continued in February of this year with the U.S.-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Charter signed by U.S. Vice President James David Vance and President Ilham Aliyev during Vance's visit to Baku.
Carlon said that the sides subsequently began working toward implementing the strategic partnership, and the number of high-level mutual visits between Azerbaijan and the U.S. increased.
The diplomat noted that a new Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of critical minerals was signed in June, the U.S.-Azerbaijan Economic Dialogue was held for the first time, and U.S. companies signed commercial and investment agreements worth billions of dollars.
"We are just getting started. There is much work ahead," Carlon said.
The U.S. diplomat emphasized that President Donald Trump has clearly demonstrated the U.S. commitment to peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus.
"The progress we have made over the past year shows what is possible when we work together. I am confident that together, our countries will achieve many more important milestones in the years ahead," Carlon added.
