He said that all polling stations were first provided with telephones in 2008 and webcams were installed in 500 stations. This year all polling stations of 125 constituencies have been provided with an optical communication line: “In connection with the upcoming presidential elections, webcams have already been installed at 1000 (20%) polling stations. On the Election Day, the CEC official website will be available for live voting. The contact with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been established via satellite.”
The deputy minister added that 1000 polling stations installed with webcams cover the entire regions of the country: “A special program has been developed for full protection of CEC website. In this regard, the relevant structures of the Special State Protection Service and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies are jointly working. It aims to protect the website from hacker attacks.”
