A meeting was held on October 19 at the new headquarters of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) in Geneva between ICDO Secretary-General Arguj Kalantarli and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva Rovshan Sadigbayli, ICDO told APA.
During the meeting, the development of cooperation between ICDO and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as cooperation priorities in the areas of civil defense, emergency preparedness, and disaster risk reduction, were discussed.
It was reported that the meeting also addressed ongoing reforms within the Organization, institutional development, efforts to expand cooperation with member states, as well as preparations for the upcoming sessions of the ICDO Executive Council and General Assembly.
As part of the meeting, information was provided on the activities of the International Monitoring and Coordination Center located at the Organization's headquarters. Efforts to expand the Center's capabilities and modernize its operations were highlighted.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest and prospects for the further development of cooperation between ICDO and Azerbaijan.
