In order to increase the efficiency of transit transportation in Azerbaijan, border crossing infrastructure is being modernized, customs procedures are being simplified, and information exchange between government agencies is being improved, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport said, APA-Economics reports.

"There are 12 active border crossing points in the country that allow the passage of road vehicles, with a total daily capacity of 4,350 vehicles in one direction," the ministry emphasized.

It is noted that in recent years, the Khanoba modular border crossing point on the Azerbaijan-Russia border and the Astara modular border crossing point on the Azerbaijan-Iran border have been put into operation. These measures serve to ensure more efficient management of traffic flows at borders and increase the competitiveness of international transport corridors.

"One of the key areas in increasing the efficiency of transit transportation is the digitalization of transport and logistics processes. The Single Window Information System – Digital Logistics Platform, established by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, is one of the important steps taken in this direction. The platform accelerates document circulation, simplifies procedures, and creates a more flexible logistics ecosystem for businesses. At the next stage, the platform is expected to be integrated with similar systems of partner countries along the Middle Corridor, which will further increase efficiency along the route," the ministry said.
