Azerbaijani-origin Russian rapper Navai (Navai Bakirov) has been deported from Kazakhstan, APA's Russia bureau reports.
Navai, who was detained at the Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan border on drug smuggling charges, was released after spending several days in a pre-trial detention center.
The criminal case against Bakirov was terminated, and he was deported from the country.
According to Kazakhstan's Zakon publication, the criminal case against Bakirov over attempted drug smuggling was terminated "on non-rehabilitating grounds, taking into account that he had committed an offense for the first time and demonstrated active remorse."
It should be noted that Bakirov was detained on October 13 while entering Kazakhstan after drugs were found in his car at a border checkpoint with Kyrgyzstan.
