Official Moscow considers it necessary to resume strategic stability talks with the United States, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
He said Russia expects that resuming talks with Washington on strategic stability will be difficult.
"We consider this important. It is with the Americans that we must talk," the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
It should be noted that on October 19, US President Donald Trump announced his readiness to hold a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, stating that the main topic of the meeting could be the reduction of nuclear arsenals.
Peskov recalled that Russia has repeatedly confirmed the importance of urgently resuming this dialogue, as the world has effectively been left without agreements on strategic stability. According to the Russian president's press secretary, the talks are expected to be difficult and lengthy. In particular, Moscow is not prepared to "ignore the nuclear capabilities of European countries."
