US Ambassador said the upcoming presidential elections were discussed at the meeting with head of Ganja city executive authority Elmar Valiyev. Richard Morningstar said the observers group of the embassy will visit Ganja and observe the election process.
"We want the elections to be free, fair and transparent. Head of the executive authority said they also want it. The embassy calls to hold free and fair elections. We do not support any candidate, nor are against him. This is the choice that should be done by the Azerbaijani people. We once more call to hold free and fair elections so that the Azerbaijani people elect the candidate they want," he said.

Ambassador and his wife Faith Morningstar attended "Women's leadership" conference. The US Ambassador is also expected to meet with the representatives of Peace Corps and NGOs functioning in Ganja and neighboring regions.
