Azerbaijanâ€™s President visits Sumgayit

Baku – APA. Baku – APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Sumgayit city on October 3.

APA reports that the Head of State started his visit by putting flowers at the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of the city.

Head of Sumgayit Executive Authorities Eldar Azizov informed the President about the activities carried out for socio-economic development of Sumgayit, one of the industrial centers of the country.

Following this, President Aliyev attended the opening of Sumgayit City Hospital â„–1 after reconstruction and overhaul. The Head of State met with city residents and hospital staff.

President Aliyev familiarized himself with the conditions created at the hospital. Minister of Health Ogtay Shiraliyev informed that 225-bed hospital has been supplied with modern medical equipments.

Then the President inspected the renovation works underway at the square in front of the Sumgayit city Cultural Center.

Azerbaijani President was interested in the progress of major overhaul and reconstruction of the Cultural Center.
The Head of state was also familiarized with the work carried out in Heydar Aliyev Park in the vicinity of the center.
The President also attended the opening of “Saglam Gida” agro-industrial complex as a part of his visit to Sumgayit.

Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev told the President that the complex was constructed at the expense of the state’s preferential loan and enterprise funds. The President launched the facility, watched the production process and products.

Then the President launched mill and grain storage.

President Aliyev also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev informed the President that the Park covers of social and industrial zones. The area of the park is divided into six industrial zones.

President Ilham Aliyev finally attended the opening of a metal pipe plant in Sumgait. The President launched the plant and viewed the production process.
