President of Azerbaijan attends the inauguration of defense industry think tank

Bakuâ€“APA. A Research studies Institute of the Ministry of Defense Industry was inaugurated on March 16. President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony. The Head of State laid flowers before the national leader Heydar Aliyevâ€™s monument and then cut the symbolic ribbon announcing the opening of the building. The President watched an item looked at the photos describing previous and post-restoration situation of the building.
The head of state was informed that the institute is a specialized governmental organization for production and improvement of defense goods. There are engineer-laboratory corpse, production development plant, experimental field and shooting gallery at the institute. There is a special attention to the training of personnel. The institute is focusing on the production of automated managing systems, computer facilities, lightweight small-arms, components of the armaments, and improvement of radar systems on the basis of digital technologies and other issues.

The institute is producing laboratory and experimental samples of the defense goods based on the results of scientific researches and experimental engineering works. There are fields of mechanical treatment, fine mechanics, electronics, collecting, repairing, painting, welding operation, thermal treatment and experimental works. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief was informed in detail about the process of production and produced goods and watched the items about the testing of the products.
Then President Ilham Aliyev visited the exhibition of the defense goods produced in the plant and took interest in their technical-economic indications and quality. The Head of State was informed in detail about the improving of BTR-70M armored vehicle.

The President of Azerbaijan gave his commissions and recommendations for the development of production fields in future.
